Erleben Sie den Schwarzwald…

The black forest is the largest forested mountain range in Germany. It stretches from Pforzheim in the north to Basel in the south and has a length of about 160km and a width of between 30 and 50km. The northern and middle parts of the black forest belong to the Black Forest Nature Park Central/North, Germany’s biggest nature park.

Around 2500 B.C., people started to settle down in the black forest region. In the Middle Ages, the settler started clearing the forest. Today, the black forest region is also known for its large farmland.

Due to the abundance of timber, the black forest had its economical heydays during the Industrial Revolution. Today, tourism is the main source of income.
